Be careful when you kick them.

Up to 20% of armadillos suffer from leprosy and are believed to have infected a number of Texans and Louisianans

I had no idea an armadillo could roll ups so tight. I watched a movie called "Steel and Magnolia", one of my favourites. And the Grooms cake was an armadillo filled with a brilliant red cake and covered in grey icing. Lots of good actors and actresses, I do not think we will ever see the likes of them acting together again. Shirley McLean, Sally Field, Daryl  Hannah, Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts and so full of life. These women were such a hoot and full of wit and life. Also Danny Thomas along with Mr.Skerit and another wonderful witty actress as well whom I cannot recall. I will post it here if I can find any info on the movie.smilebiggrin

Take care,

Uni

I never saw one do that before. I never even knew they did that. It looks like a gray watermelon...or maybe a large beach ball.
I've heard they are migrating to the north and the east, as far as southern Illinois. People there have reported seeing them. Climate change.

I've made many road trips down South, and I also lived in Florida for two years, so I've seen them in Real Life.
They often end up as roadkill, and the buzzards and crows like to eat what's left of them.

I was way up north, in Gainesville, which was not all that big a city in the mid-Seventies. Open country wasn't too far away.

Saw them on back roads. Only about an hour or so from the Georgia line.

Also saw them along the Florida Turnpike and I-75, going to and from South Florida, where my folks lived for 33 years.

Some were moseying along, near the shoulder. Some were just FORDs...Found On Road Dead...biggrin
