"The most likely first instance of widespread publicity for the Shaggs was on the Dr. Demento show. In an early-1970s Dr. Demento show, Frank Zappa was a guest and was playing some of his favorite songs. He played a couple of Shaggs songs, and professed his love for the album."

No comment, nytram? I even mentioned your Lord and savior Frank Zappa in there for you.

I use to own a copy of this album. I also use to listen to Doctor Demento (93.3 with Doctor D),  but I don't remember this episode.

Too bad you don't still have it. They're worth thousands of dollars now.

How did you get a copy? There are only 100 original copies. Unless it was a later 80's repress. Those aren't worth as much though so I guess that would be less regrets for you not having it anymore.

It was probably a repress. I got it in the late 80's at a flea market.

Most likely a repress then. Still, I'd buy a repress if I found it somewhere. I'm sure all the 100 original pressings left are in collections somewhere.
