Cover of the first issue I ever owned...from the summer of '58.

Given to me by Cuzzin Billy...I was 11 and he was nine.

Never missed an issue for the next ten years.

Still have all of them...in a box...most of them are in fair to good condition.

Maybe I should finally sell them...as a set...not individually.

Wonder how much they're worth? A little? A lot?

May as well dump them now...before I'm dead...we could certainly use the money.

Worth more by the minute. I'd sell.

I had the flexi-disc called 'It's a Gas'. A couple of minutes of retching sounds that came with a 1966 issue of Mad Magazine. They're going for about $30 now. I'd like to have one, but not for $30.

Wheeling and dealing can be lucrative...but you gotta know the territory...

I have a lot of stuff in this house that would sell well on e-Bay. I know zillions of people do that. But I went to a seminar about how to do it, years ago, and it seemed like such a fucking hassle that I gave up on the idea. Too many rules and procedures and too many hoops to jump through. Just seemed too complicated. There's gotta be another, easier way.

For all I know, I'm sitting on a gold mine that someone will cash in on after I'm dead. Or else it's just a lot of worthless crap that would make good fuel for the fireplace. I don't know for sure. I need someone to assist me who would be trustworthy...and not a con artist who will cheat me or rip me off.

I should be able to do it myself, since I'm Jewish...we have the wheeler-dealer gene, right? But I'm just too goddam lazy and it would be very easy to get scammed. So I just sit on all this stuff. It's getting older...and so am I. Could be too late pretty soon...literally any day now. I'm not a kid anymore.

Lucinda says the prices will rise steeply in a hurry, and then plummet. Like the trajectory of a rocket. She learned that lesson when she tried to make some moolah on those goddam Beanie Babies. She found out that if you act too quickly, you cheat yourself. But if you snooze, you lose. And she did.
